ok i am in the process of restoring my crx and i currently have the agx/tein s.tech combo on it now,but i am wanting to swap over to full coilover. I hear alot of great success with the CG/KONI combo but i am not looking for sleeve type coilovers.I honestly have been looking into K SPORT,D2,and P.I.C. i dont really want to spend more than 1k for a good set of coilovers as this will mainly be a street driven car on nice days with the occasional auto X day. i need real opinions from people with these setups. i dont want to hear those are junk and have no explanation for it. post up and help me pick the best coilover for my setup

Trust me when I say that Koni/GC will be of considerably better quality, with better warranty and customer service than any of those "cheap" full coilovers you listed. Koni Sports also most likely have a superior rebound adjustment range than those cheap full coilovers. Of those ones you listed, I would go with PIC before any of the other ones.
Have you seen how the Koni-specific GC sleeve fits onto Koni shocks? For all intents and purposes, it's the same as a full coilover setup, aside from it not having separate preload and ride height adjustments (which is not really an issue).
You can get Konis and GC's w/ custom-rate springs for about $800 or less from H-T sponsors, and around $950 with a pair of extended top hats for the front.
My old setup:

Those are pretty. I plan to go with Ground Controls with 100 or 200 more pounds/ spring. and the Koni Yellow SP3 shocks. Then get the extended top hats. I think it sounds like a great set up.

i did know about the adjustable perch for the koni's which made them a bit more appealing.. i logged back in and had a PM from AMR. i like the looks of his coil over aswell. i have talked to a couple friends that personally run the koni/GC and they love them. i am basically looking for easy adjustment for dampening as well as ride height, bang for the buck, and something that will last for a long time. alot of the companies i had listed havent been around long as i can tell besides PIC that i can tell. if i do go with the koni/gc it will be the kit with the tophats for the extra height as i will need all i can get. i am basically looking for streetable non harsh with the occasional track day mixed in..(AUTO X)

Longer warranty? Check. Better quality, customer service and rebound adjustment range? We should see some evidence before someone can just trust you on those claims. I'm not taking anything away from Koni or GC and I never have, but I'm getting a little tired of getting lumped in with some other brands..

Why?
What difference does it make whether the threads are machined on a sleeve that fits over the damper body rather than into the damper body itself?

I don't recommend running the Ground Control upper mounts with Koni 8041-RACE or "Neuspeed SP3" Koni dampers. Doing so limits the droop travel too much.
Stick with stock upper mounts if you want to run the Neuspeed Konis, otherwise use the regular 8041-Sports.

I have never seen a Ground Control sleeve crack.
I've seen broken Eibach ERS spring coils and seized perch pinch bolts, but I have never seen a cracked Ground Control sleeve.
Now, other brands of sleeves, OTOH, have been known to have strength issues . . .

so yuo saying the koni/gc setup is best bang for the buck,in my budget, and is more than cpable of what i am wanting/willing to do with the car?

Yes I have seen coilover sleeves crack also... cheap ones that sit on OEM-style shocks, where the sleeve sits directly on the spring perch. Koni-specific Ground Control, however, have a machined groove that directly fits the snap ring on Koni shocks, and is used IN PLACE OF the OEM-style Koni spring perches. It's a pretty trick design.

Ok. So choose one or the other. Hm. Which would be better to get? The sp3's would be cheaper over getting the extended top hats, but idk if the performance would vary.
