Default Swapping Meter Assy (Tach and Speedo)???

My car:
04' DX/VP - Auto (Completely Stock)

Question:
What are my options with switching out the stock Meter Assy (Speedo, Temp Gauge, Fuel Gauge, and Shifter Gauge) with a Meter Assy from an Auto LX or EX that includes a Tach in the Assy and still keep track of the correct mileage on the car?

I know that I have an auto and it is pointless, but it would be nice to have the tach there if it is not too difficult. I noticed on the EX and LX auto's that the Meter Assy is completely different compared to the stock DX/VP one...What kind of wiring nightmare would I be looking at, or would my existing harnesses behind the dash simply plug into the EX/LX Meter Assy?

I searched and happend to find a very imformative thread on installing a small aftermarket tach, but it (or any other bolt on Tach) is not for me. If it would be a nightmare swapping out a Meter Assy from an Auto EX/LX, then I will just deal with not having a tach. The thought just popped in my head and thought I would find out if anyone else out there has done this.

P.S. I don't race the car, plan on racing it, or ricing it out...It would just be nice to have a tach to see what RPM's the engine is turning at

Thanks to any that can help!

It was a pain in the *** for me, i have an 04 dx manual. I had to do some splicing and rewiring for the fuel to work. Ive never done that in my life..but thank god for DIY's!
