surprisingly they weigh less than the gram lights which go inch per pound i believe since 17" gram lights weigh in at 17lbs and 17" attacks weigh in around 15...odd

Has anyone weighed the 15s yet? Supposedly they are lighter than 13.5lbs, the weight of the Gram Lights.

If this is true, then these might be my new rims.

I'm asking because the weight of them as stated in http://www.wheelweight.net says 10.0 lbs, and I'm having a hard time believing that.

Pretty much all of the 15x6.5 Rotas are around 12lbs.

10lbs. for the Attack?

I'd have to see it on a scale to believe that.

I sell Rotas and every one of the 15' ones have been right around 12-12.5lbs, but I admit we have not caried the Attack yet.

I mean a knock off of a cheap cast wheel is kind of weird IMO.

wheelweights.net does the label the attacks at 10lbs, i posted about this about 6months ago and i was quickly corrected that the true weight was 12lbs.

the attacks are the only rotas ive heard to break too, and it was happening alot

Rota will be coming out with 15x7 wheels fairly soon, I suggest not buying anything until these come out...

The WRX guys have problems with the subzeros, but all wheels break in reality. Rotas may be a little bit weaker than their "real" counterpart, but I feel the price outweighs that fact.

That doesn't sound quite right. the 15" gram light is only about 10.5-10.9 lbs, so I don't think that the 17" would be anywhere near 17lbs.

You get what you pay for. I'm not knocking rotas, because I'm rolling on a set of subzeroes myself. However I've only heard of rotas breaking when used in auto-x and hard racing applications. They should be more than enough for the majority of us. Anybody really pushing their car may want to spend the extra money to get some nice forged wheels. Rotas are nice, but forged is better.

Shut up.

PROVE it.

I'm so sick of this he said she said bullshit when it comes to this car stuff. I've not ever heard of one problem out of any Slips whatsoever.

I've seen one set of broken Sub Zeros and the aforementioned broken Attack on a heavy-*** Scooby. did anyone know that the same guy who broke that Attack also broke a STOCK SUBARU WHEEL too?

Yeah so watch what you type if you cannot prove it, okay?

Okay, now I'm telling you I SOLO II with my Rota Slipstreams, and they haven't broken yet. In fact most of the Subaru guys are rolling on Rotas out here. I have yet to see one break in person. Now you've heard both ways.

i have never heard of a slipstream cracking either... i was going to buy rota attacks and then i saw the thread about the wrx breaking one, it didnt worry me too much b/c i figured it was an extreme circumstance but then one link led to another and so on, and it turns out that the owner of the track where the rota snapped was requiring all people with rotas to inspect them before he would lett hem out on the course, to make a long story short they were finding alot of attacks with serious stress cracks on the spokes under the paint/powdercoat. so i decided against them, i probibly shouldnt have posted about it but imho if you are considering them just get the real gramlights, they only weigh about 1lb more and they can be had for about 50$ more per wheel, may seem like alot but i'd gladdly pay for the piece of mind.

what? thats not true. i have slips, and with the exception of 2 tiny little slits on each side of the spokes, they are solid.

Can you call someone a douche? I mean is it really a legitimate insult? I've heard dipshit, *******, ********...But never douche.

And as far as Rotas breaking...Any wheel can break. I haven't heard one instance where one broke under normal driving conditions yet.

Well give me their damned phone number then, okay?

I've owned 2 sets of Rota Circuit 8 wheels since 2001 and if any wheel should have bent or broken by now, the Circuit 8s that I own should have. They've been auto-X'd on and driven on shitty Atlanta roads.

Forgive me for being relentless on you, but your bullshit is just too much for me to keep reading.

I've probably sold 30 sets of Rota wheels, many of them being Slips, and the only complaint I've ever had is that I've had 2 wheels come in defective. One seemed to be untrue (replaced) and the other had the flat black coating too thin on the lip and it too was replaced.

Do you not know that those Speedys are the SAME ******* WHEEL!

Yay! Great points you bring up there buddy!

Until you provide hard proof that there have been "many problems with Slips" I will delete every post of yours in this thread from here on out and dock you 2% points per post. I won't delete your first few because of the sheer comedy value about them.

If anyone wants to bitch that i'm abusing my Mod status, tough ****. This guy has already stated that there have been many problems with a certain product and until he offers up real evidence instead of "Some shop told my friend about it" then he does not deserve to post any more in this topic.
