Default JDM B18C block... How to tell between ITR:SiR-G?

I searched, but I kept getting the same "Measure the throttle body, what's the head coding? What does the intake manifold look like?etc" answers.

I'm buying JUST THE BLOCK, it doesn't have pistons, just rods and crank, girdle, caps, etc. I'm picking this thing up tomorrow, is there any way to tell which engine it is? I'm getting a good deal, so it honestly doesn't matter, but I'd just like to know.

Here's a picture of the block stamping:

He told me when he took the pistons out, they said P73-00, but he could have very easily have just told me what I wanted to hear.

Is there ANY way to tell from the engine stamping? From the research I did, it doesn't appear to be so easy.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Doesn't really matter if it's just the block. Same casting and all that jazz...

no way to tell from the engine stamp, have to look at the crank or rods etc.

That's what I'm asking, the engine is apart, I can easily check the rods/crank. If they say "R", they're Type-R components, correct?

Like I said, I don't care, they're the same block, I would just like to know.

Most easily noticable by eyeball, the ITR crank also has extra lubrication holes on the end counterweights.

Well it doesn't matter anyway, the deal kept changing, a great deal turned into an "Ehhhhh" deal, and it just wasn't worth the effort for what the block was (Grinded up to fit a turbo, scored cylinder wall, no bearings, no oil pump, no water pump, etc).

I'll catch the next one.

Actually he is right, definitely re-stamped... You can tell underneath the "new" stamp that it was sanded/smoothed down, and that B is way off from what it normally looks like, and I also want to point out the "font" on the stamp is a lot thinner then what Honda uses...

yeah, i was going to post it was probably stolen...looks like they cut part of the stamp off, like it should be a 1 or 5 next to the c, and part of the 8 is chopped off...

holy resurrection batman.

id have to agree with the fact that it looks a little shorter, how come theres only 6 numbers below the "B18C" and the rest, including my block has 7 numbers there? thats a serious question by the way.

*edit* sorry, its only a couple weeks old, i just realized there arent 24 months in the year lol

The ****'s restamped definitely. It's in bad shape man, I'm glad I didn't pick it up.

Also, just look at the font... In particular, compare the 4s.
