well the reason most people do the ls/vtec or crvtec swap is b/c the blocks from the 2 non vtec motors have more displacement where as if you just doing from a 1.6 to a 1.5.... you might actually lose power.... b/c youll be decreasing displacement... well putting a vtec head on a lower displacement block instead of vice versa as with the ls/vtec or crvtec. but im no expert

Wrong!!.....if it's from a 95 EX then it's a d16z6 head which makes it a 1.6l....not 1.5....the 92-95 DX is a 1.5..aka d15b7...and 96+ i believe is d16y7(1.6l)

but yes it can be done.......i have a basic how-to on it.....but don't know what extra you have to do pertaining to obd stuff.....here you go, hope it helps:

u need a vtec ecu from an ex and than u need to add some wires for it. also u can run the vtec using a rpm activated switch and your stock ecu, this is the cheapast and simplest way to do it.

yeah but retard he is not putting it on a 1.5!!! the 96 and up are all 1.6l )d16y7)
so now you are the RETARD!!!
That is why people should watch what they say before they say it.

i did this same swap
i just finished putting a z6 head on my y7 block
i had to cut my old y7 distributor to fit the z6 head
other then that it pretty much bolts right in
the only other hard part is the intake manifold
here is a link on how to do that
http://www.makuragi.s5.com/civic_99/Y8maniswap/
yes i know its for a y8 intake manifold, but its the same thing for the z6 intake manifold
you will also have to wire up the vtec solenoid to either an obd2 or obd1 ecu
you could also wire it up to a rpm switch, but getting a new ecu is what i would do
good luck
