Engine bay detailing questions
I just got the car and the engine bay is covered in dirt and oil. So I was thinking about detailing the engine bay, but this would be my first time. What should I cover before doing this? Do dealer ships offer this? I'm not sure if I really want to do it myself after reading some of the problems people have had after trying to detail their own bay...
Thanks

Problems? what problems from washing a bay? and yes detail shops will do it for you or you can do it yourself, no hidden secrets, some shops steam clean the bays but most pressure wash.
I have done so many cars and trucks almost new and older without covering anything unless there is an open filter.
Most modern cars are sealed pretty well and all electrical conections sealed with electric grease.
Engine bright works best for me but simple green works well. Let it soak in, a cool engine works best then pressure wash.
After you get all the dirt and grime out spray the whole bay with some mothers and drive it around or idle the car with the hood closed and everything will look new
