Removing the battery with hondata or other programable ecu's
After the tune is saved and loaded to the ecu will removing the battery cause it to loose that tune and have to be uploaded to the ecu again from a laptop ? I know I could call hondata but they are closed today.
It shouldn't right? Isn't that burned into the rom? (I know shiet about this stuff but I've been reading my brains/eyes out on it for the last two weeks.
I've just recently started to understand what socketing and installing the roms is all about, so don't completely trust my word. Hopefully someone can give you a 100% for sure answer.

I HIGHLY doubt that **** dude.
All ECMs that I know of, modified or not, use some sort of PROM chip to store the "tune". "Programmable Read Only Memory" You cannot lose information just by removing power, ****, on some PROMs you can't even change the program, they're a one-time, burn-in deal.

as far as memory goes, there are two types, volatile and non-volatile. Volatile memory requires voltage to retain memory, non-volatile, which is what the PROM chips in our ECU uses, do not require voltage to retain the information.
