OT: Rota lug nuts
Do all Rota wheels require the use of a different lug nut other than stock? If so what size/shape should i get? I am looking at a set of the Kyokugen's and i have heard bad things about them with the key stripping and all but i think they will be alright if i use the breaker bar and what not. thanks

I'm running the Kyokugen's with a set of Kosei K1's. The lugs are very nice, light, and cheap $55 shipped from http://www.jdmhondaparts.com/frameset.htm
It's written all over the package to use a breaker bar and torque wrench only (no pneumatic wrenches) which you should do anyway. A friend of mine just ordered a set of the Rota "Mugen MF8" replicas for his Si. His set-up came with Kyokugen lug nuts.

My kyoyugen lug key is starting to strip, although not too bad yet. I have a friend with Rota wheels as well and he's running stock lug nuts with no problems.
I've just heard horror stories about the Kyokugens. I purchased Rotas, and did some good research on lug nuts. I finally decided on the McGard Spline Drive lug nuts. Cost like 76 bucks from Summit Racing. Got mine in black with the additional locks. The package also came with new valve stems. Heres a link to my research:

And heres some pictures of the lugs on the wheels. I have no closer pictures.

Hope that helps! Oh and yes, the stock Acura lug nuts are Acorn type, the Rotas need cone type.

I would be very carelful with stock acorn lugs on a tapered seat wheel like the rotas. All of the tourque is focused on the very outer edge of the taper and acorn lugs are known to untorque themselves. Ask you buddy if when he takes his lugnuts off he feels the lugs un-torque really fast...meaning it only takes less then 1/8 of a turn to get the lug completely loose.
I have read many stories of front wheels falling off here on HT. All of them where using stock acorn lugs on tuner style rims.

I would definitely go with Gorilla Lug nuts but do they make a kit that comes in 20 pcs? I mean most of the ones i have seen are only 16 which means i would have to buy two of them. I wanna do the lug nut thing as cheap as possible. I am already on a tight budget.

IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT ME KEN THAT IS WRONG INFORMATION. THIS IS CAPITALIZED SO EVERYBODY SEES THIS AS I THINK IT IS IMPORTANT. I bought a set of 17" rota subzero's initially. The store i bought from sent me a set of "special" lugnuts to use with the wheels. They worked fine for a few months until on the way back from deals gap to atlanta they started to vibrate heavily. We pulled over a few times and could not figure out what was going on so we continued. Finally it got so bad we had to pull over and tried to take the wheels off. The lugs bored thru the wheel and stripped onto the wheel studs. I had to have the car towed at about 1 AM to the dealer where i worked. They fixed the studs but all 4 wheels were damaged and 2 were completely unusable from the damage that was done by the wrong lugnuts. THE LUGNUTS I WAS USING WERE [B]NOT [B] ACCORN STYLE. AFTER MONTHS OF CONVERSATION WITH THE SHOP I BOUGHT FROM AND LEGAL THREATS I FINALLY GOT A SET OF 15" SUB-ZERO'S FOR REPLACEMENT. WE CALLED COSMIC(MAIN US DISTRIBUTOR FOR ROTA) THEMSELFS TO MAKE SURE WHAT TYPE OF LUGS TO USE AND THEY ADVISED ME TO USE AN ACCORN TYPE LUGNUG.
SINCE THEY ADVISED ME TO USE AN ACCORN STYLE LUGNUGS I HAVE BEEN USING STOCK LUGNUTS AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS SINCE. HOPE THAT HELPS.
.....yup, a local guy broke/ cracked his rota's with stock lugnuts.

maybe the sub zeros need acorns....
but my slips and c8's definetly need tuners.

hmm...i am getting the new Rota Attacks in 15' when they come out with our bolt pattern. I could buy the slips now but i want to save that extra 2 lbs per wheel. The new attacks are supposed to weigh 10 lbs. I will talk to the guy at Machiii.net and see which ones he reccomends. I thought acorn would be the correct choice. Who knows. we will see what he says.
