I'm trying to get my car BARed. I've been going to one in San Jacinto CA, but the guys there are jerks. They want me to fail the smog part of the inspection. They did pass me on the visual though. Huntington Beach is closest to were I am but I want to know has anyone taken their car there? If so how are the guys? I don't want them to be like these other guys and find something else they can write up.

 

It doesn't matter if the guys are jerks or not. If there is something missing on your car, then it is the ref's job to tell you what it is, and you are responsible to seek/add whatever is necessary.

If there wasn't something wrong with your car, you'd pass. So fix it, and go back. Some ref's are more lenient, but it still doesn't change the fact that your car isn't ready to be BAR'd.

If you feel they made an error, take a printout of your helms with you. Take the vac line routing, evap system, whatever is in question, and show them that your car is correct if thats the case.

Ok thanks for the thread but I've seen it before and no one from what I saw talked about Huntington Beach.
Second it does matter. All these guys did was talk **** on Japanese motors. When I went there i had the motor hot and they turned the car off for 15min. then they let it idol for a little while. Oh yea and I passed a pre test. When I showed them this they said, "oh it must of been done illegally.
