Well I ran into some problems the other day. I was on my way back to work after my break when it happened. I put my car in first gear and slowly made my way up the street from our house. When I put into neutral while waiting for traffic to clear I heard a noise. Then I tried to put it back into 1st, it simply wouldn't. At first I thought it was my slave cylinder going out because I opened up the hood and when the clutch was pressed it made this weird noise. I replaced the slave already... wasn't that. My other idea was possibly having no trans fluid, maybe a leak somewhere. To my knowledge that isn't it either. After talking to Mgags, MLBZ521, and a mechanic. I believe it is either the shift fork or a cracked pressure plate. The thing is... I have a ACT Heavy Duety pressure plate so I believe thats not it either. I figured well.. I gotta drop the trans to figure this out. Its the only way. I had so much to do besides this anyway... I figured hey, it must be a good time to get it all done. Here is a list of what I need to get done:
√ 1. Fix Intercooler piping (There is a bend that comes with Greddy's intercooler piping that was hanging too low under the car) - Done
√ 2. Clean block off - Done
√ 3. Clean engine bay - Done
√ 4. Install Sandwich plate (This is so I can run my oil pressure gauge) - Done
√ 5. Install new 10mm spark plug wires - Done
√ 6. Fix Trans problem + Install New Clutch - Done
√ 7. Replace rear main seal - Done
√ 8. Install Oil Pressure gauge (needs to be wired up along with the pressure sending unit) - Done
√ 9. Put in new Honda MT fluid - Done
√ 10. Paint valve cover + Install new gasket - Done
√ 11. Install New turbo ( This includes the new manifold, wastegate, downpipe, gaskets etc.) - Done
√ 12. Install Retro Fits - Done
13. Fix Reverse light problem ( ever since my 5speed swap I have not had reverse lights)
Ever since my car was turboed it has had an oil leak form the turbo oil seal. However after looking under my car it maybe be more than just the seal on the turbo. You guys can see the massive amount of burnt oil on the downpipe. It possible that there is a leak from the oil return line as well. Thats it for now. The reason I made this thread is because I will need your guys help with some of this. I will be taking pictures as I go. Thx for the help

Lol... my bro cleaning up the oil stains on the driveway.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Thx for the posts guys. My brother is using the same 10mm wires I am getting in his TT 3000GT and it works great. It was a big step up from the Autolight garbage he was using before. I too have the autolight wires and I am misfiring sometimes. As far as the tranny fluid I have herd great things about the GM syncromesh. People with 5th gear grinds while using Hondas MTF switched over to GM Syncro and that fixed the problem. So I am going to give it a try. Since the first post I have removed the headlights, removed the old turbo, downpipe, and manifold. The feed line was a beast to get too. I had to remove the wastegate off the turbo first. I also tried to remove some of the suspension but I got stuck. I cant figure out a way to effectively get to the tie rod (I think thats what its called) so I can remove the cross member under the car. There is 2 bolts that I just cant seem to get too. I have them pointed out in the pictures. If anyone could give me any pointers on this it would greatly be appreciated. I also updated the list
.

Feed line out

Look at that disgusting block... time to clean it up

Evidence of blowing oil?

^ This is the rod that is connected to the cross member. Also do you guys think I need to check the intercooler piping for oil?

those are the radius rod bolts. and yes they are a bitch to get out. i used a box end wrench and an *** ton of elbow grease to get them off. it also helps to remove the fork from the shock
.
and as far as the clutch problem goes, id say you busted something loose on the clutch plate and its lodged in the pressure plate not allowing it to move all the way. it happened to me and a buddy of mine. and i personally removed both lodged pieces from the pressure plates. mine was stock, his wasan ACT stage 2 or something. i know it was ACT. good luck.

leigh,
I would highly recommend the use of a V-band clamp on the downpipe. It will completely eliminate any threat of an exhaust leak.
NGK plugs and wires
all a street motor will ever need.
the honda MTF has been the best transmission oil i have yet to put in my tranny and i have used damn near all the "synchromesh" stuff.

Hmm I will look into that vband clamp. As for Hondas MTF... if you say it works the best and you have tried all the others, then I guess I will get that instead. Thx Blake

the v-band is like 50 bux and it completely replaced the bolts and flange. both sides of the pipe need the v-band flanges welded on then the clamp goes on top and seals it. kinda of expensive but very nice.
Having a leak where you had it will completely turn a tune upside down because it allows the entry of oxygen into the exhaust (before it hits the wideband) thus the wideband is going to read a leaner mixture, resulting in the tuner adding more fuel when it is not needed.

AFTER: Not perfect... but its a lot better

BEFORE: 1000cc Injector harness, what you know about that

... I just wanted it clean enough for the new turbo. I will get it pressure washed after I get it out of the garage. I realize now that I need to paint my valve cover. Just another thing to add to the list

My cousins neighbors uncles best friend uses an ebay turbo and it works great for him too.
Take my advice... I know what I'm talking about.

Hey that would be great Matt. The headlights are pretty much done. I am going to repaint the shroud and put them back together. As far as wiring goes, I believe I have the PnP harness that came with the retros. This is the diagram Prelude1897 gave me to wire them up:

I will pm you when I get ready to put them in. Thx

I got the new spark plug wires in. I also got the sandwich plate and oil pressure sending unit in. I do have a question about the oil pan tho. Are the supposed to be open holes like that? I have them circled. *List has been updated*

Also for those who care, we were tunning this beast at 12am yesterday. Its my brothers TT FWD 3000GT. Two custom WRX 13T's (9b exhaust housing). We tunned it to 10 psi with SAFC while data logging. This thing hauls... he must be making atleast 350whp with his mods.

Yea I dont think I have had one since the 5 speed swap. Anyone got one?
Update: Nov 24
After work I was so tired all I really got done was bolting the manifold up. I also test fitted the turbo. It looks like I will have to shave part of the front engine mount and some of the fan shroud to fit it. Hopefully more to come tomorrow if I am not studying all day.
