Who has bought from Hmotorsonline?
Just wanna know how well they packed the engine for shipment. Since I don't live too far away (12 hours) from their shop i'm contemplating driving there to pick it up myself to save any headaches. I got a shipping quote from them and it's roughly about the same in gas there and back so i could do it either way. Obviously shipping would be the easiest. thanks.
The service and product was great but the shipping sucked. Keep in mind that I had it sent to Ohio. It was wrapped in foam and firmly banded to a heavy duty wooden pallet. But my rotor, cap, two spark plug wires, tps sensor and all three pieces of the im were broken and completely unusable. I had to send the im and tb back to get new ones. The only thing good that came out of it was I got a larger tb out of it since the motor they sent was originally had an auto tranny and the replacement tb was from a manual. I would go pick it up though. It could save you from being that 1% that has a problem with shipping.

One question, I bought a 92 Si 3 years ago. It already had been swapped with a JDM H22. On the block there is a stamp near the block code that says HMO. Would that be a stamp that was put there by Hmotorsonline? Also on my block there is the numbers 10 2 92 thay means a 92 year model engine , right?
I did an H22 swap into a 92S model a few years ago. The guy bought the engine from HMO. The engine came strapped to a pallet with plastic wrap around it. No padding. The engine was in fairly good shape, but you could see some dry rot on some rubber seals, so we replaced all the external rubber seals, timing belt, etc. Started up and ran perfect the first time.
TPS was broken and the crank pulley was chipped. After waiting awhile, we just ditched the idea that they'd replace them.
Also the engine was FULL of fluids, as was the trans. I was very surprised they shipped it that way.
Overall good engine. BTW, this was shipped to Texas.
I would buy from them again, as I don't think there's any other vendor that sells good JDM engines.

Never bought from them but I've never heard anything bad about them which is more than I can say about any Osaka or Tiger Japanese. I've talked to several people who bought from them and they were all very satisfied. If I needed an engine, that's where I'd go.
I bought a h22a with lsd tranny from hmo ~6 months ago after a lengthy reseach. The engine/tranny assembly were shipped on a strapped down sturdy pallet and plastic wrapped with additional bubble wraps and cardboards. The tps was removed and left attached to the harness so no damage there. All fluid drained out (there's a tiny amount left inside which is normal). There were some very minor issues such as a chipped alternator pulley and one crack iat connector, which could be the result during the actual engine pulling from Japan, and not the fault of hmo. One phone call to Steve and everything was taken care of. I would definitely buy my next engine from them again.
This is the condition of the engine/tranny assembly after unwrapping.

I bought an H23A3 from HMO and it came in very good condition down here to Texas. Dropped it in this past July and it has been running great ever since. Would definitely buy from them again.
