I'm wondering what your opinions are on these lights being legal or not? they call them white, but its more blueish

I like the bulb because its white for the running lights, but it lights up orange for the signal(1157 switchback bulb from autolumination.com). I just wish it was "whiter"

so I contacted the company and they say nobody has complained about being ticketed for these bulbs, and that they have not submitted them to the DOT for approval.

so my question is are they legal or not?

 

if they're not DOT approved,they are illegal.
i can't see any cop actually inspecting them for approval though.my main concern is that they look blue,which is illegal.

I've been using the swtichback towers in my 96 civic for over a year now with no police issues, even when I was running just my running lights with my halos connected and my amber fogs to guide me...... Frankly if a cop asks you can clarify that you got these bulbs to make it clear to people at night when you were turning or not (I've had people almost hit me because they didn't bother to notice my turn signal was on when it was amber on amber).....

 

Amber is more classy, while blue is more ricey.

 

when in doubt go to your local vehicle state inspection to verify if you are worried about they are legal or not. it is better to be safe than sorry.

Also stay with with amber. true HONDA!
