Default 2-3 Shift (New 07)

I'm sure this topics has been covered a zillion times but I just got an 07 last night and would like to clear it up. My 2-3 shift is pretty notchy almost to the point of grinding, but not quite. I'm wondering if this is fairly normal in the S2s. The car is brand new (14 miles) so it's not like it was abused or anything.

And yes, I know what a grinding gearbox is like. I've gone through a few synchros in my time.

Thanks in advance!

being that you said that coupled with a user date back in 2001, i would assume you would know what the search feature is

Yes, I searched and did not find anything in the S2000 forum - search is my friend, I know.

It was fairly cool outside, around 58 degrees I suppose. I never had that issue in my type R although the gearboxes are quite different.

in the colder seasons/days the trannies are always a lil notchy and 2-3 is the most noticible...... because of angle etc... take it to the dealer just to verify since u got it new...

Usually when it's cold/chilly out, the gears will be a bit notchy till the fluid warms up and it'll start to smooth out over time.

Normal occurence with cold temps don't worry about it. I just tend to push the shifter up slower for that shift and it seems to help.

trannies have break in times just like motors, i read a bulletin the other day from honda (dealership employee) basically telling the sales monkies to advise new s2000 and si customers to be nice to there trannies for the first bit, give it a few thousand before you make any judgments, if it feels the same by all means take it in and get it looked at
