K24/K20A3 Swap questions...
So from what I understand (from searching) you CAN put a K20A3 head onto the K24 block...? Or is that incorrect?
If it is true what are the power gains people are getting from that? I assume more torque? What about HP? At what RPMs?
On hmotorsonline they have the K24 long block for like 850 bucks. That sure beats that price of a turbo for now, etc and if it has a decent amount more power than my EP3 it seems like a good idea.
I assume all of my EP3's bolt ons will still work too, since they bolt to the head and not the block.
But mainly I am just curious to see what the power output numbers are looking like, and how high it REVs and the compression ratio and whatnot.

i think you read incorrect.
k20a2 head onto a k24a1 (crv) block. redline decreases to 8 grand. now a 2.4L with more torque. HP goes up maybe 10-15 (more depending what mods you have done to it) hp but you have an excellent torque increase. Instead of 139lb (varying) you get like 160-175 varying. k20a3's are worthless unless you fully build them or boost.
the k20a3 vtec-e (vtec-efficiency) for fuel economy is what kills ya since you don't have the vtec the k20a2 utilizes.

Ok. So what are the power stats on just a stock K24 engine. Would it be nicer to go with then my A3 or should I just boost my A3 and be done with it?

Well I am not sure. I am thinking boost. I have read so far that the K20A3 handles boost pretty well. That could be an option and I am sure a less expensive one than going NA too.
then turbo it is. You could make easily 300hp stock, run 12's with a turbo kit w/o any major mods and be streetable. just get a rightfully sized turbo for your car. the turbo kits i have seen like greddy, hks etc... they are all small turbo's. just remember if you are going turbo you need to upgrade your fuel pump to a 255.
if all you looking for is 13s i would just put a jackson racing supercharger on the a3 or if you wanna swap i would swap in a k20a2 with some light cams and some nice bolt ons. i ran 13.6 in my rsx with just bolt ons but i think i might just go boost in my rsx just to shut up some EVO guys i know
13.6 with bolt ons? That is like a second quicker than stock. Damn.
Well I am thinking LIGHT boost and LIGHT turbo. Something to spool quickly to like 6 to 8 pounds.
We'll see what happens, new tires and suspension are ready to be installed as of right now. That will make a noticable difference.
