Tire Trailer tire size?? 8" or 12"
Just trying to get some feedback on if 8" tires can handle 100 mile trips to events at 70+ mph or will I NEED 12" tires to keep the wheel bearings cool and not be overworked??

The trailer is about 150lbs and will carry a storage box and set of 4 tires so less then 200lbs more of added weight will be on it. I know you have to grease the bearings but I don't see me using this trailer more then 10-11 times a year, it's just for Auto-Xing so will 8s be okay or do I NEED 12" tires?? Thanks

That's the trailer I have from Harbor Freight. I went with the 12" tires, because the price difference wasn't too big and I didn't want to pull the little ones on the hwy. Those tire trailers get kind of squirly sometimes since they're very light weight, but I don't know if the larger wheel helps or hurts that.
I have the one with the 8" wheels. It made the trip from Raleigh NC to Ft. Myers FL (700+ miles) in a very reasonable period of time (and back) with a full load. Speeds were known to hit triple digits once or twice (not extended runs).
After an extended run of 80-90 mph we stopped for gas and checked the hub temperatures with the pyrometer.
105 deg F.
The 8" tire temp was also about 100 deg F.
So, IMHO, if the bearings are good, and greased properly, they won't overheat.

Well that's the info I was looking for and I guess if the 8s give me problems I should be able to upsize them to 12s on the same hubs and maybe just flare the fenders if they rub like my Azenis did? I think I can do that in STS right?
