Default alternator belt flipping

i have a gsr in my car and for some reason today i was racing a prelude and my lights get dim by the end of the race. well when im pulling in to a shopping center my battery light comes on and i was expletive there goes my alternator belt and when i check it its fine put just upside down. and when i put it on i tightened it good.
does anyone know what could be causing this?

The only reason your belt could possibly flip over is if it wasn't tight to begin with. I know you're supposed to check your tension every so often, as they will loosen up over time. I just tightened my a few weeks ago and it's already slipping, so now I have to re-tighten it again!
