Default Interchangability?

I know that for the most part, D-series engines are like legos, in that you can pretty much put any piece with any other piece... Specifically, I was wondering if you can put a D16A1 head (DOHC, 86-89 Integra) onto a D15B2 block (Civic DX). Is it possible?

is it possible? yes.

is it worth the time and money? no. this question is asked probably twice a month.

Gotcha. Thanks.

Would I be better off just putting an entire D16A1 in? Is that possible?

I suppose this is a better question, that I'm sure is still asked an awful lot, but I'm new to Honda tuning... my last car was an '02 Crapalier and the only mod I did was H&R springs...

What exactly is the reliable potential of the D15B2? I'm not looking for 500hp and 11 second 1/4 miles, but I figure if I can squeeze maybe 150 naturally aspirated crank horsepower out of it, it'll have plenty of pep for toolin' around town and the occasional weekend at the local road course.

yes, its possible too. is it worth the hassle for 112/118hp? not in my book.

yes, you could probably get close to that number out of a D15b2. but keep in mind that you are almost doubling the horsepower out of that motor. so your asking of, "reliable potential" is kind of thrown out of the window.
