Default 99' EM1, is this factory or collision repair?

Well looking to buy another em1 since mine got stolen and stripped last week. I dont have my car at the moment to compare it to so i am asking anyone that has a civic coupe if they know if this is the way the trunk looks from the factory or has it been replaced. The car has a clean carfax report but the owner as well as myself have come to the conclusion that this car has been repaired by the previous owner. Rear quarters are original just the area under the trunk latch is in question. Thanks for the help guys and anyone interested in a 99' em1 with a busted ignition, missing battery, and fuses, let me know as i will be selling my old SI to by the one in question. thanks

Is that grey? Thats new metal in that case

Also I realize they have modified the civic badge to the Tein, but the Si decal is also missing giving me the thought that its been re-painted

It has definately been painted, the DOHC VTEC logo is missing on the right 1/4 panel.

Well emblems and badges were taken off by the current owner. Its pretty much a track car. He also took off the stock side skirts and replaced them with the flat black ones to match the front carbon lip. Aside from the current owner wanting a clean car, the factory dohc/vtec logos dont apply to the new jdm k20 swap. If anyone can take a quick look at there car, i would greatly appreciate it. alot of people take off their emblems and badges so i cannot base it being wrecked off of that. I would inspect the car however it is not in my state. Just want to make sure it would be worth it to fly out to pick it up.

i would have to say factory, just looks like all the sound deadening has been removed which would make sense because it is a track car.

Why? Don't the Si's come with that logo on the sides? If it's gone then I assume it would be painted.

Everyone's guessing and not looking at their cars... so will I.

From the pics, it looks like its been in a collision. I'm pretty sure its suppose to be blue and not gray. And it looks really shiny compared to the rest of the inside. Also, it could be just the pic, but the rear bumper color looks just a tad bit off. I'll check mine tomorrow if no one still hasn't checked.

Do you see any welding on the bottom of the trunk?

all i have are pics and they do not show welding. the primer colored metal under the trunk latch and the white colored seals are what is being questioned here. Does anyone know if it is oem or it it has been repaired? Come on, someone on this forum has to have a civic, right.......mayBE? HAHA hAAAA, just playing guys, if you get a chance take a look at your can and get back to me. thanks again.

Be careful, when I bought my EM1 I didn't even notice that those little fog-light placeholders had been painted over (front bumper replaced). However, fenders still had the VIN and the front pieces of the frame have the factory sorting marks, so at least it seems it wasn't in an accident. But the bumper is aftermarket and needs replaced, so I'm not happy about that.

I'm not sure.. but is this car in Syracuse NY? if so I beleave its a theft recovery car. I'm pretty sure I saw that same trunk picture on an e-bay sale.. car was being rebuilt and sold on e-bay.

ok.. well I'll give you my two cents..

First, look where the trunk lid latch hits the striker. See the over pray. If this was factory you would see more blue coming over the edge.. same with the area around the tail lights..

leads me to beleave it was a bad attempt to back tape and repaint.

on my 00, same pearl blue, mines painted the same as the car. so it looks as though it has been replaced on your car. also, the sealer on mine is black thats been pained over with blue.
