Default Anyone have some good "rookie" links?

Hey, I'm new to cars and will be getting a civic as my first car very soon. I want to customize my car and make its performance better and do all that stuff. I have read that vtec is the way to go but I need more stuff for rookies to read! Does anyone have any good links (for dumb ppl) that explain steps and lots of stuff about cars.

I understand the mechanics and all of that stuff very good since I used to race model R/C cars, its just all the abbreviations you guys are using for parts and whatnot!

Thanks!
