Default d16y8

im going to swap a 97 delsol si motor into my 89 crx dx and i had a few questions.
1. i wanted to convert over to obd1 so which ecu would i use?
2. is there any extra wiring involved besides v-tec (sensors?)
3. do the mounts on the engine bolt up to the chassis mounts exactly or do i need the front mount from the delsol?
4. and last, is there a write up on it?
if some or all of this has been coverd im sorry but ive been searching all over and couldnt find anything. thanks

You don't sound like youve researched for too long since this is pretty much some of the most saturated topics on this forum but I'll help out anyway since I have practically the same swap going on.

# You need a p28 ECU from any 5spd 92-95 Ex or Si and an obd-0 to obd-1 jumper harness (Rywire.com) as well as a 92-95 EX,Si dizzy and a 4 wire o2 sensor to make it work in your rex. and yes, there is alot of wiring if you spend the time to do it right and clean (still a good bit even if you hack it). It's not hard, just involved and since I wanted mine to look factory I spent almost a complete day just customizing the engine harness to look factory and like new.
There are TONS of write ups on this as well if you just search "dpfi to mpfi"
#2 you need to run the timing belt motor mount (attached to the block via 2 14mm bolts) from your previous EF motor and bolt it to the y8 block so your EF chassis mount will bolt right up, your cable tranny will bolt right up and all your other mounts wil work fine

i did alot of searching but i just searched d16y8 in a crx hahah thats prob y. thanks alot for your help though. the good thing about the motor im pickin up is that it comes with the entire engine wiring harnes so it makes it a little easier. and i have alot of ecu pins that i got from a harness at the junk yard. if i have anymore questions i know where to go now. thanks

As long as you know you need to use your dx harness and modify it to fit the y8 motor, short of a few plugs you can cut off and use, the y8 harness it worthless to you.
