ATTN CHICAGO, STOLEN TEG, keep an eye out!
NOT MY CAR. Posting for a friend.
Car was stolen TODAY 11/20 from the Chicago-area. Please keep an eye out, it has a very distinctive black roof/wing paint job, with a cage and sparcos.
Whoever this thief was cashed in, first K20 swapped teg in the states, some might remember it.
If anyone has any info, please let me know - the IDIOT didnt have theft insurance on it....

I don't think so, it was just at his house/work from what I gather. He's like driving around stalking tow truck drivers and stuff now so I didn't get a chance to get all the details.

Hopefully it will be found indeed, however if it is the same f^&%ers that stole mine in March ('00 PY ITR), then it's most likely already stripped. Cops found my car already dumped on some street within about 30 hours, with no traces of nothing, completely cleaned out. LoJack didn't even help. The problem is that nobody questions tow-truck drivers as they're picking up a car in the middle of the day, or middle of the night. The only true way to protect ITRs is to have insurance.

isn't that just a damn shame? how ironic.

now why wouldnt he have theft coverage on it....itss too bad. Even if the insurance gives him anything, it would prolly be around $6G's. They will give him the cost of an "LS" since it was one by title

No more so than anyplace else. You hear about a lot of thefts here because there are 9 million people here, so of course there are more than in smaller cities. Our theft rate is not particularly high. (The auto theft rate tends to be higher in cities near the ocean or borders because thieves can get the cars out of the country quicker.)

I agree that the overall theft rate might not be higher than in smaller cities and yes, you are right about the cities near the ocean and the borders. But when it comes to a Type R chances it gets stolen in a city like Chicago are way higher.
Lets be realistic, you can't park a Type R on a street in Chicago and if you will than it will probably be gone in no time
Not too long ago my friends garage got broken into twice within a week. Another friend of mine parked his R on driveway for one night and guess what, someone broke in to it (luckily they didn't take it). I don't think that would be the case in a small city where people don't even know what a Type R is.

Small city, like Cleveland, Sacramento, Charlotte? I can assure you, they know what it is and it's just as likely to get stolen there (and I'm not picking on these cities in particular).
Now, if you're talking about a small town, different story...
