AC being on VS. AC being off. Its gettin hot in TX.
Okay so I know AC kills horespower duh, and removing the whole system= less weight and better 1/4 times hopefully duh.
Its getting hot in TeXaS.
So back on goes the AC. I have the B18C swap in my 92 CX hatch and will be buying the B series AC bracket mount soon.
My question is if you have AC you only lose HP when the AC unit is on right???

well there's still SOME (very minimal) loss from just the belt being on. but it's really nothing at all....seriously nothing at all. so yes, you only 'lose' when the a/c compressor is actually engaged. why people strip their a/c is beyond me. i wouldn't ever even joke about it...but then again i'm in Texas. not everyone has a climate like ours. 100 degrees in some other states feels like 85 degrees here
you fellas are lucky

parasitic drag is there in a very minimal sense even with the belt just on with the ac off but as said up top its nothing to worry about, but yes with it being on u can feel the power loss very good even on the butt dyno

I love a/c. Get the del sol bracket if ur using the civic compressor, other wise u need the teg bracket and teg compressor. You also have to modify the civic a/c lines if you use the teg compressor.

i paid 130 brand new from the dealer...not too bad. i did mine start to finish in about 20 minutes. it was way easier than i thought it was going to be. reuse the belt tensioner from the Teg if you have it. if not, you'll have to buy a new one.
