really if your going to use gsr pistons i would just do a poor mans type r in a gsr block but if you have both block laying around i would take everything out of the LS block and put it in the gsr block stright sleeper just tell everyone its a poor man type r and its a better build for a ls vtec like that because their is no oil line no rep tapping the head i am doing a build with the same set up in a gsr block but with a eagle crank scat rod and je 12.5... till i sace more money to have my b20/vtec resleeved
or you could just do what i did and get the black braided stainless line, and black fittings so you cant even see the oil line from head to block, and it takes like 5 minutes to plug the hole in the head.

i say go with b16 pistons or ctr if i were you. i went with gsr piston which is around
10.0-10.5 compression ratio on a stock gsr head. and i just made 180hp and 129tq on crome.
my setup
stock gsr head
skunk2 stage 1
m factory cam gears
jvt 4-1 header
catco 2.5 in and out
thermal r & d catback
b18b bottom
ls rod
arp rod bolts and head studs
vtec was set at 5000rpm
well i hope this will help. overall it depend on budget and what you plan to do with it. good luck

ctr's are not a good idea in an ls block because you will be looking at well above 12:1, and in my eyes, and asston of research, 12:1 is just about the perfect street comp ratio.

I would argue that roughly 11.5:1 is the best comp ratio for the street unless you're running cams that require more.
