cheap exhaust header... is it worth it?
so i gota 90 crx si and 200 dollars... welll i am geting a b&m short shifter for sure and i was thinking of geting an exhaust header.. but i plan on doing an engine swap in the semi near future so i didnt want to spend to much on the engine.. all im doing is i.h.e. well the header im looking at is called number one some jap brand and well there only 109 dollars and i kno thats really cheap. i want to get these but my question is what are the chances of me having problems with them.. what would thos probs be or just skip the header if im not willing to spend more than 150 dollars.. below is a link to the site im pretty sure it works otherwise there at nopi.com for 90 crx and there like the first set of exhaust headers.. please give me any information at all im thinking of ordering it tonight if i hear good news. otherwise point me in the direction of some cheap but decent headers.. thanks for the posts! You will get mixed responses, for my Rex I wasn't going to put on some crappy manifold, so I found a DC header for only 100 dollars. Now with my miata "like four times as valuable as the CRX" I put on a Egay header. So far no craps and it did help the sound. Might I suggest you use the 200 dollars furtherest away from the motor? Save for other improvements, or how bout just extreme maintenance such as bushings, fluid flushes, etc. GL
Like most people, my first mod's were I/H/E. I went the cheaper route..got an ebay header. It fixed my exhaust leak issue...but I didn't notice any power gains. The higher end headers are said to produce noticeable power gains. Hytech and Toda headers come to mind. But once again, you have to pay to play.
