D16Z6... you cant really feel it on a D series espically stock...but do you have any CEL's being thrown how is your oil level? did you check the wiring again did anything get loose...

make your you have a good connection on your vtec pressure valve, if you are running obd1 and have a C.E.L it will show up as 22 ( 2 long flashes and 2 short) if you do have the check engine light on you can check by shorting the cable that is near the door i beleive it has a blue connector and only 2 wires going to it.

my friend has a stock b16a and his vtec kicks in like baby nuts...well you can't expect a single cam d16 to give you a kick in the ***..lol...If you built it up..vtec will kick in hard and pull you hard too..example i have a h22a fully built head..skunk2 cams and vtec is amazing..I'm sure you might have the wiring correct for the most part. otherwise ur vtec would bogg in and out or would not kick in at all...etc...so I'm thinking that everything is ok its just that ur expecting something pretty damn good from a SOHC..build it up..

You act like weve been around hondas our whole lives and are the ignorant idiots that you find at the local ricer meet. We all know what a V8 can do and having a fast domestic is much cheaper than having a fast honda. Sure I could grab a cheap fox body mustang and make it haul ***** without much effort, but everyone wants something different. Were telling you facts. VTEC cant get weaker. Its either working or not.

The O2 sensor does not affect VTEC operation. The only reason that this might have happened to you is that your faulty O2 sensor was causing your motor to run rich. When you run rich, it usually drowns out VTEC for whatever reason.
