A friend of mine recently sold his Prelude and he gave me his cam gears. I've seen a few threads throughout my days on H-T within the Prelude forum where people talking about their cam gears slipping. Could this be because of incorrect installation or does this regularly happen? Throughout my searches basically I have seen it is pretty much worthless to install cam gears on stock cams. With my mods listed below would I be wasting my time installing these?

Just make sure the bolts are tight. If you still have problems with them slipping use Post-assembly loc-tite and put a drop where the outer ring and the inner part of the gear meet.
Oh and Gains... At the track, I Showed CONSISTENT 3-4 MPH 1/4 mi gains. And an average 1mpg better mileage. Cam Gears are really fun to play with if you know where to set them. You can switch from screamer to a torque monster in 5 minutes!
However.. Dont just slap them on and start cranking on them. You can try one degree at a time, and use a g-tech or something similar to get a ballpark. But definately don't advance or retard more than one or two degrees until you get it on a dyno. A dyno is the only way to maximise hp from the gears.
