My car has spark and the fuel pump is coming on but when i turn the key to start it , it just cranks. not sure if the car is getting any fuel. Please Help Also the fuel gauge goes from 40 to 0 when i try to start the car

 

is your battery fully charged? alternator working well??all the ground wires are good?? starter good?? main relay good ?

i would say your fuel pump. You should hear a light whine when you turn the key to on. And it shuts off when you hear that click. If you are running a stock fuel pump with an chip/stand alone/piggyback, it will make you fuel pump work harder than it is used to and probably go out. Look on chilton's there is some kind of resistance test for the pump and the relay. check both of them.

you either didnt read that or shouldnt be posting here. the OP said its cranking but not starting. if its cranking theyres obviously nothing wrong with the charging/starting systems.

to the OP. pull the plugs and see if there wet or smell like fuel to see if your injectors are firing. but like Ploeg8393 said, its most likely an over worked fuel pump.
