Come on guys, the block he has is a h22 closed deck motor. They come closed deck and we leave them that way when we put the sleeves in them. The other 2 blocks posted are B series motors with Benson sleeves. They come open deck and get left that way. If you have an open deck h22 block, it comes back with sleeves that look like the open deck B series...but that is why they look different.

As for being a liner, that is a term used for sleeve. The process above done was the entire stock sleeve was taken out and a brand new sleeve is put in. Every sleeve is a liner, although the term usually get's used when only part of the stock sleeve gets taken out and a new iron sleeve gets put in...IE it now would have 2 iron sleeves. Not in the case with a Benson block, it is a completely brand new sleeve...reason you can take it out to 89mm, even turbo if need be and it would run great!

I think they get reffered to as liners simply because they aren't flanged, more like the "repair" type sleeve a local machine shop would do only thicker. my mistake if they are in fact flanged though.

Every one of Benson's sleeves have a flange including this block. It is not a large flange, but there is one. This is the same way Benson sleeved Stephan Papadakis H22 engines when he was drag racing

I have a benson H22A4 that Earl built for me, and I know that things gonna hold as much power as I can throw at it. Laskey Racing is the only shop I would let touch my engines. Mike
