5 passes on the new setup at ennis TX this weekend, T1 built and tuned...
I don't usually post about my car on here because it has been a long time since it has ran, but did some testing at ennis this weekend with the new setup. Setup is as follows:
84mm gsr, golden eagle sleeved, 8.5:1 weisco pistons, manley rods, gsr head, itr cams, rev valve train, gt35r, 1000ccs, bosch pump, hondata s300, etc...
Car made 600hp, 400tq at 27lbs on c16.
First pass off the trailor:
60' 1.764
1/8 7.264@102
1/4 11.255@124.8
Car drifted towards wall, had to let out.
2nd pass:
60' 1.764
1/8 7.195@108
1/4 10.88@136.5
3rd pass:
60' 1.825
1/8 7.3@110
1/4 10.89@139.3
4th pass:
60' 1.654
1/8 7.5@84
1/4 11.6@123
missed 3rd!
last pass:
60' 1.653
1/8 6.933@109
1/4 10.78@114
Car shut down on me somewhere between 1/8th and 1/4. Tony thinks the car hit boost cut but the data logs were not working correctly so we don't really know.
I would have liked to run again and hit a 10.5, but it started to rain and the motor started making some noise so we put it on the trailor. Hopefully it is something minor in the head and I'll be back soon....
Thanks to everyone that helped me get this far, everyone at T1, my friends and family, etc... I will have pics and videos up tonight after I get home from work.
Link to video, sorry it sucks....

When you're making over 600hp on a 4 cylinder, no piston manufacturer will cover things like that. It's part of the game. Can't go around trying to put the blame on someone.
FWIW, Eric is not getting stuck with all this. He's covering a new set of pistons (JE) and a few gaskets, and we're taking care of the rest.

Unfortunately stuff happens like this for no apperent reason, but what makes a shop great is the way they deal with situations,
to tony, I had a similar situation this year and did the samething

Sounds like it... can someone actually complain about making to much power

I had heard of this happening before with Wiseco's at high power, but had not seen it yet. Then again, i think this is one of the highest hp motors we've done with the shelf wiseco pistons. We're using JE pistons this time, their shelf piston has held up great in my car, so they've passed the test. lol

Uuhhh, maybe ~330bhp per liter.....?
for helping the customer remedy the problem.</TD></TR></TABLE>
thanks ***, that was a helpfull response
i have used shelf wiseco's on a few engines making that much power, but normally we use a full round skirt on stuff thats going to be making that much power.
we havent had any issues..
post pics if you can

man, sh*t definitely happens....im glad to see people steppin up to keep the ball rollin...even if its nobody's fault.
If any of you knew the history of my car you would understand how bad this was for me. I have been building this car for over 3 years and been through 3 different shops until I found the best guys in the business at T1. I was dissapointed that I didn't get to bring the car home this weekend, but at the same time was confident that I was in good hands. I really thought the noise we heard from the motor was going to be something simple like a broken valve guide. Well. I was wrong but am pleased to say that T1 will be taking care of most of the damage. I know for a fact most places would have told me "thats racing" and I would be screwed. Can't say enough about these guys, they have my business for life. I will keep u guys informed on the results but as of now plan to be back out for the ifo events next year!
had that happen to one of my customers with an h22 weisco piston.
it was only making 500hp.

Dang Tony that is mighty white of you but wait you're not white. JK
I guarantee you that 99% of the shops out there would have told him tough luck. But this is just the kind of guy that Tony is.
