Default Keyless entry = no lights/no horn

I have a friend with a stock 01-05 civic w/ keyless entry. Usually when the car is unlocked or locked the lights flash and horn sounds...but one day the lights and the horn function on the keyless entry stopped working. The car still locks and unlocks though.

Is the keyless entry in a "quiet" mode of some sort?

Would simply reprogramming the key fob fix the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help/experience

if the key fob does lock and unlock, then you dont need to replace the battery...

try this....most likely your car is in valet mode...
