CAN A TPS BE REPLACED ON A 5TH GEN PRELUDE, WITHOUT REPLACING THE WHOLE THROTTLE??
DOES ANYONE KNWS HOW OR IF ITS POSSIBLE TO CHANGE THE TPS,, ON a 5TH GEN PRELUDE.... AND IF YOU DO,, HOW?
Im pretty sure that it can be done because before cleaning them, Jorge at Maxbore removes them and puts them back in later. So yea dont go buying a whole new tb lol. Sorry I can be of more help
Use something like a dremel to cut notches in the tops of the screws that hold the TPS to the TB, and then unscrew them normally.
DO NOT POST IN ALL CAPS. ITS IS REGARDED AS YELLING AND THAT IS CONSIDERED RUDE AND BAD FORUM ETIQUETTE.
to answer your question, yes you can. however, you will need a multimeter to set the voltage correctly. .45volts at closed and 4.6-5volts at WOT
In order to remove the TPS sensor you have to cut slots into the screws so you can remove it with a flat head screw driver.

how do you plan on getting another TPS? i mean throttlebodies are cheap, like 30 bucks.. might as well get one since TPS usually last VERY LONG.
you can buy new tps sensors now, I believe omnipower has them. somewhere around 60 bucks tho but better then a whole new tb.
tb for $30!! Brand new?
I would go with omni.
search "omniman" he is selling some.

I'm in with Shawn on that one, a bad MAP sensor is more likely to make it stall than a TPS.

Hey I had the same problem on my car. Would stall out after warmed up & idles went up & down. Seems pretty common w/ the honda's. I replace cheap 1st then work your way to more expensive stuff. I changed the map sensor then iac valve. It ended up being the tps sensor for me but I had to pull the throttle body to take off the tps sensor. I was told to unplug the tps sensor while warmed up. If the problem went away most likely it was that. Good luck!
