My em1 and oil.. help -_-
Hey everyone,
i have noticed that my 2000 Civic Si em1 has been using a lot of oil, i have been putting in a quart to a quart and a half of Mobil 1 Synthetic nearly every 2 - 2 1/2 weeks... i know that a quart a month probably alright but every 2 weeks???
There are no drips or leaks of oil, the only mods on the engine are an AEM short ram and a valve cover breather... Engine only has 66k original miles. i must do 50 miles a day in commuting to college...
i am new to the b16a2 from my k20a3 ep3 which burned no where near as much oil... is it just the b16's high rpms and the fact that im commuting a lot or do you think its a problem ?
thanks

if you drive in vtec more than often you will consume more oil - learned the hard way..well, almost the hard way. baby the car more (unless you happen to find yourself in a race or late to work or have to take a dump real bad..then vtec all you want) but yea, driving in vtec will consume more oil
