I own a 99 si and the guy i bought it from had put Eibach Spotlines and adjustable fron control arms, and it still has factory shocks. Ride quality isnt bad imo but its not the greatest.

So, im wanting to upgrade shocks just not sure which ones to get. I dont need the best just something somewhat inexpensive but better than how it is now.

And i also want to lower it more, ive been told that you can cut a half a coil off eibach springs and it wont affect the ride very much, how true is this?

Im wanting to achieve around another 1inch drop, just enough to tuck the tires on my 17s, will there be any issues with this other than rubbing the inner fenders?

 

check out KYB AGX, or koni yellows (more pricy though), i have kyb's and they work great, they adjustable to, so u can make em ride hard or soft, and inbetween

Yes your tires will rub. The sportlines are relatively soft. They are designed to be at the height that eibach puts them at. You can get koni yellows. They are around $500. They have an adjustable perch. If that's too much $$, then try some kybs or some tokico blues.

Blues are cheap, and they work pretty well.

Skunk2 springs ride pretty low.

You will need an alignment if you change ride height.

 

Yeah, it needs an alignment now, just going to wait until I get new shocks and lower it more

why would you want to go that low? low doesnt=fast.

hard to say. People have different definitions of the word "driveable". You have to decide based on what type of roads you drive on, etc.

The Skunk2 springs look pretty good on EM1s. Low but not too low. Soft but not too soft. If you get koni yellows, you can adjust your ride height and see what works good for you.

You can also play with things like camber settings to make the tires not rub the fender.

Maybe consider getting 15s or even 16s? You dont think 17s look a little ridiculous?

 

koni yellows, hands down the best, I've had ajx's & simply don't compare...

Ill definately look into the yellows and skunk springs.

and i actually like how the 17s look on it, I could do 16s but not 15s, too small

 

Yellows!! I got em and absolutely love em, I can set them on soft too have a smoooth ride and then later set them on stiff if I got too, but they are sweet

Thanks, im sure they will have more stuff I want though

 

I had KYB agx in my last car the ride was pleasant not to stiff or bouncy in my present car I have tokico blue they okay since they came with the car. lol

 

my EG came with tokico blues, they suck, but thats just my opinion, i guess it has alot to do with the terrain you drive in. where i live, or like to go, there always potholes and bumps you have to constintly watch for. tokico blues dont hold up well for rough roads.
