95 Accord ABS Code 8-2
While recently driving my 95 Accord home the ABS light came on out of the blue.
It had never done this before but I could live without ABS so I paid no mind to it and continued driving. Upon parking the light was still on so I turned the engine off and restarted the ABS light came back on for 2 seconds as it normally does for the bulb check and it turned off.
Puzzled I jumpered the service harness and pulled the code. It flashed 8-2 I triple checked this to make sure my eyes weren't decieving me.
According to my Accord Service Manual the diagnosis for Main Code 8 Subcode 2 is "CPU Comparision" The probable cause listed was "Faulty ABS Control Unit".
Now I'm puzzled should I replace the ABS Computer or leave it alone?
Was the ABS light coming on just some sort of glitch like a data mismatch or could it happen again?
I wish they would have gave an explanation more descriptive than "CPU Comparision"
