Default check engine light in a 97 accord wagon lx 4 cyl manual problem

check engine light in a 97 accord wagon lx 4 cyl manual problem 4 door

Greetings.

I read the rules carefully. I hope i am on point. I have 3 errors that have been there for years. The car drives fine, I know that doesn't mean there is no problem..

The codes are p0135 2 sensor heater circuit malfunction bank 1 sensor 1

p0137: o2 sensor circuit low volts bank 1 sensor 2

p0138 :02 sensor circuit high volts bank 1 sensor 2
(it has been reset over and over and it comes back on within a minute)
I realize that this gives a vague picture... Thats what i have to go by..

mechanic said he will diagnose it further (completely?)for 100 bucks (not fix)...it seems proper..

Does my combo make anyone think of a certain problem they may see or have dealt with at in the past?

Thanks you

Mike

have you changed the O2 sensors? Both of them. One is located under the car next to the Cat. The other ummm you'd have to find out but i bet someone can tell you.

I would change the O2 sensors before you do anything else. I believe the first on is in the exhaust manifold coming out of your motor and the other one, like the other person said, is underneath the car in the exhaust next to the cat. Can't remember if it's before or after. But I would replace both of them before you pay someone else to diagnose it further. If the CEL still comes on after you replace the sensors, check the code again and go from there.

it may be the sensor underneath. I'll run you under 200 if not that much to replace the sensor and do a reset to clear the light. Or you could be cheap and replace it, drive around till the computer resets itself. I'd pay the extra money to get it over with. BTW how do you reset the computer, its not just by disconnecting the battery right? I'm guessing no because if you get it inspected it'll show up as Not Ready, and you'll end up failing anyway.. Am i right?
