Default I'm finally Preluded out.....

Well, I'm getting rid of my prelude for sure. i just got it running again and I've decided to sell it now because it's just got too many problems for me to spend my time on worrying about fixing them, and I realized that i need to just cut my losses and quit throwing money into that endless pit that i call a prelude. It was a good car when it ran properly, and I learned so much from it, so i have no regrets.....

SO....I bought an '06 6-speed Pontiac GTO. It has the LS2 (400hp, 400tq) and feels absolutely amazing. I really love it. I'll be sure to post pics as soon as I get some.....I guess this means i won't be spending much time on h-t anymore.....kinda sad. Anyways, thanks to all you guys who had answers for me and were helpful when i needed it. h-t will always be bad *** in my book.

while the LS2 is an awesome engine, the new GTO is a POS if you ask me...

its looks have grown on me, but its still a gawd awful GM product....

F*ck a bunch of that noise.
buy an S2k that has a blown engine and swap that LS2

GTO's are sloooooooww!! Has to be a whale of a car to be as slow as they are with 400hp. I bet with an LS7 they would still be slow.

Fwiw, I beat a neighbors GTO with my STI. He has a 2005 LS2. It was very very close, but I definitely had him. The STI is stock... bhp= 300hp/300tq.

Regardless, the GTO is a nice car. Its nice to see American car manufacturers trying to keep up with the big boys in Germany. Hard to believe with the impeding fuel shortage that such huge engines are still being produced and in high demand! How I long for a E63 AMG!!!

Obviously, the OP is happy with his choice

ive been in a stock class gto during races for autox, and it felt really good.

the owner said its a whale from the factory... but a big front sway and better shocks transforms the car. it transitioned amazingly for a car of the size! it was a more intense ride than my s2k, thats for sure, however i was still quicker around the course by about a second on a 34 sec course.

btw... i bet ur loving the seats huh? they weight like 80lbs each, but they are comfy as hell!

I think you bought the right car. Seems like a good car for the money

I will admit that I am not surprised to see people who try to turn cars into something they aren't meant to be throw in the towel. I see it happen often.

I can't turn my Prelude into a Corvette?!

Good luck with your 'GTO' Chris, RWD V8 power has it's perks

Please your 15 years old. How many cars have you driven in your life? Have you ever driven in a 450 rwhp car before? Every drivetrain has its advantages. Here is a few

AWD - Good for bad weither, launches
RWD - Good for launches, slightly lower drivetrain loss that awd, not so good for bad weither.
FWD - Good for highway driving, good in bad weather, usually the least drivetrain loss

It had to be said. For being a sport coupe it is totally lacking in the performance area. It has to be the slowest 400hp sport coupe (or maybe even 400hp car in general) you can buy.

Besides, I don't see why your defending someone who obviously failed at building a fast prelude and had to resort to this.
