Default my 3rd gen build thread

I just picked up a 88si a month ago for $1000 in realy good shape. It only has one dent and a tiny bit of rust on the rear passanger quarter like some hit it with a door real hard so no biggy. It has 200000 miles. The auto tranny that was replaced less than 50000 miles ago and I know this because it was my friends moms car before I bought it. All i have done to it is put a ram air intake i got from a friend. It doesnt have a name brand and i also put on a K&N air filter. Thats all for now.
And here are the pics sorry for the crappy quality they are from my phone and i dont have a digi cam yet maybe ill save for one.

the only rust i see

i need to sew this back seat before it gets worse

i think ill invest in aftermarket seats because of the wear thats happening

radio it came with

missing rear speakers but they are coming in the mail

i have a set of these rims i will be putting on after i paint them black or black with a red lip still not decided

and of course the fogs

<FONT COLOR=""Red"">Mod list</FONT>
<FONT COLOR=""Red"">interior:</FONT>
stock

<FONT COLOR=""Red"">exterior:</FONT>
oem fog lights

<FONT COLOR=""Red"">engine:</FONT>
intake
new spark plug wires (forgot what brand)
new spark plugs

To do list in no special order

<FONT COLOR=""Red"">interior:</FONT>
1)sew rear seat up
2)get new driver seat and possibly passanger seat to match
3)install rear speakers (already ordered and already installed)
4) clean all vinyl and carpet completely even taking out front and rear seats to get the carpet as clean as possible.

<FONT COLOR=""Red"">exterior:</FONT>
1)paint rims(1/2 way done)
2)get tires
3)fix dent
4)replace rear wing or close holes on the trunk lid
5)get lowering springs and shocks/struts (i dont know what it has)
6)find visors for the windows
7)tint windows
8)camber kit front/rear
9)fog light rewire
10)replace/fix antena
11)lisence plate relocater (got one from a guy on h-t) just need to put it on
12)lower the lude with some da suspension i have laying aroud

<FONT COLOR=""Red"">engine:</FONT>
1)cold air intake(got an intake already and put it on)
2)relocate battery to trunk
3)upgrade grounds
4)cam gears
5)b21 ex cam and b18 intake cam
6)fill motor mounts to make them solid
7)fix speedo cable so i can actually see how fast im going
8)5 speed swap as soon as my tranny blows (picking it up this weekend)

I will add to the list as I find things that I want to do to my lude.

So tell me what you think good or bad but please dont be rude. im a newbie to modding cars so be nice. and im open to any advice you want to give and ill take it into consideration.

<FONT COLOR=""Red"">UPDATE 10-18-07</FONT>

oh i almost forgot i got my car registered and insured now i got to get smogged to get it legit.

ON THE OTHER HAND

Well looks like i had a present waiting for me when i got home last night. i wonder what it could be?

opend it up and it was this

and the receipt

yup i got them for free

<FONT COLOR=""Red"">Update 10/20/07- 10/22/07</FONT>
I installed my rear kenwood speakers and it sounds 10 times better.
I changed my spark plugs and throttle response is way better now. I need to reset my idle because now it surges and I noticed that one of the hoses I changed wasnt on tight enough so it was slowely dripping. But I fixed that.
i also ordered a lisence plate relocator from a guy on honda-tech for 15 bucks. just to see how it will look with the plate on one side or the other. to see if i like it or not

<FONT COLOR=""Red"">Update 10/30/07</FONT>
well my ****ing lower control arm (lca) decided it was time to break today when i was on the freeway. On the bright side i made it to the junkyard today and picked up some bolt for it and also got some center caps for my bmw bottle cap rims.

Well i fixed the lca with a couple nuts and bolts and a drill because i needed it for work the next day and its doing good so far

<FONT COLOR=""Red"">Update 11/17/07</FONT>

I love build threads. Especially of 3rd gens even if I have a 4th gen myself.

If you haven't swapped out your seats yet mine looks just like that. I found an '88 in a pick a part and pulled the seatback cover that was beautiful so I removed it and bought it for $20.00 (cloth only).
