Default Has anyone changed their stock horn???

Well the stock horn for my civic sucks and was wondering if any of you guy have swapped another horn from like another car. I heard a focus horn go off and it was pretty loud, i tried searching for a used one on ebay, but couldn't find one. Do you guys have suggestion on another cars (i'm not looking for airhorns) just stock loud horns from other makes that work on 12 V. like the civic. thanks

I swapped mine out to a WOLO 418 Powerhouse, It's a Mini Air compressor driven Airhorn and it definitely gets the attention of whoever you're honking at.

Mine isn't roof mounted -_- , I mounted in on the passenger side in the bumper, it's a tight fit but it will fit there. Works awesome.

I put 2 GM horns on my hatch. Theyre definatley louder than the stock honda one I had. Got mine at a local auto shop, just asked for some 95 Chevy S-10 ones. Wiring was simple.

Who cares about horns. Put your money into something better like start saving for a turbokit or a motor swap.

well i'm pretty sure i'd rather be heard and spend 40 bucks tops than saving 40 bucks for a turbo kit (pretty big diff.) and who said anything about trying to go faster

I hope you save up for your turbo and your engine swap and then someone goes to cut you off and sideswipes you. All the while you're laying on your teeny little girl horn in vain.

Not everyone cares about trying to be the fastest car on the road.

What car at the least 70's use a 6v system? Don't ask pointless questions like that, there is one standard voltage for cars and thats 12v. Any horn from any car will work at most the fuse might have to be replace with a higher wattage one. I would go with air horns simply because I have them and I think the get the message out there loud and clear. My friends 3.5 altima horn is really loud but theres two of them one high tone and one low tone.

Fuses are measured in amps, any current at 12v higher than X amps will blow it, though this does create higher watts (as watts = volts * amps), the fuse is still a measure of amperes. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Though yeah, they're all 12v now.

The sound clips on the site aren't accurate at all, mine sounds nothing like that and the only reason I have it because it was free. My father ordered one for his 2008 Diesel Superduty and Wolo accidentally sent him two, so I took one.

but a high-low horn is just as it sounds, it has 2 horn units, one thats a high pitch, and one thats a low pitch. just go to the junk yard, out to the feild, or to the neibors, and find an old pickup or cat and just unbolt those. you will be fine. if you still dont like it, get 5 or 6 of them and wire them all up

its red/black/chrome the red barrel/cone is 5-6 inches long and 2-2 1/2 diameter, its one of those antique 30's 40's cars horns, something you may or may not want to install in ur car, its direct plug n play-dont got to go through all that relay rerouting wiring ****. i took pliers and snipped my stock wires close to the plastic horn wiring clip and twisted it on and electrically taped it to new one and I installed it customly mounted to a flex bracket (homemade), so it doesnt dance around under my hood :EHROOOOOOOO..... movit asshols!!
