You JDM whores, Need advise on a JDM part.
I have a JDM cat on a 01 USDM caR, is there a sensor that will fit the cat and plug that will not trip the CEL?
If you have a part number or sensor please let me know. I have to go for an inspection in the near future.

the jdm cat does not come with a bung for the O2 sensor...
the bung thats on there is for a different sensor to detect when the exhaust is within temp range...
the O2 sensor doesn't even fit there, you are going to have a new bung welded on if you want to use your O2 sensor

the O2 sensor on our cars is too big for the existing bunghole thats there right now...
like i said b4, the hole is not for an O2 sensor, its for something else

correct. its a temperature sensor
on the JDM dials there is a logo with a cat that has heat waves running through it. its the sensor for that warning light

yes I know, but was hoping to get some sort of an adapter or a smaller sensor to fit???
<-- wishing for an easy solution on this, but probably not.

The 'Turboglue' is pretty good these days with the new stuff on it
As for the R at Expo, it would be nice... And very probable. But not counting on it, work takes first place this year. DD the car is the main concern and priority at the moment.
That is why I need to find a way to pass inspections with my current setup.

Rob it might be a long shot, and if you don't have to get the underside of your car inspected for it (yeah some states do that) you can take it into the dealership and have them bypass THAT particular CELL...
It's what I did, and had it come back on for the same code (Secondary O2) a few months after i had it bypassed (twice) and the 3rd time we bypassed it, it never came back on... and that was about 2+ years ago...

ya wanna borrow a high flow cat from me Rob?
You'll get rid of the CEL and be able to pass emissions. Then when you're done you can swap it back. Which header and exhaust do you have that you are trying to mate up to?

That's what I would do. It's very easy to do.

I'll have to take the cat off and bring it to the local guy I trust to do welding and see what he will charge for the new hole. But before I do that, Does anyone know if it even work or is there a certain location or internal needs?
I have tried the tin foil and I have never had any luck with it... I'd rather try the free and easy way first, Does anyone have tips for using the foil?
Thanks Anton for the generous offer, but I'd like to have a semi or permanent fix.
Oh the local dealers here are JOs Not even going to attempt to bring it there, besides I know that there are some real shady people there/involved.

I was thinking something similar, although I'm not sure we want the bung right on the cat.
If you drop SMSP - Dave Stadulis a line, he can give you some good advice.
What most of us are doing is welding an O2 bung with cat sensor screen on the exhaust, some place convenient.
This isn't going to guarantee passing an emissions dyno test, however.

rob, shoot me a phone call or pm and i'll make you a secondary o2 sensor fooler. you won't need a bung and can pull the sensor into the cabin instead.
