Well I wouldnt just do this to do this..
I got a referee ticket because a cop was a dick... All I had was a DC header (no sticker)
and a non legal intake...
Well I owned a d16z6 that I blew a rod bearing in...
I was looking at the two intake manifolds and the only NOTICABLE difference was the PURGE valve... or w.e that emissions device is...
So I was gonna just slap my old intake mani on there and call it a day....
But as I look closer there is a few hoses that would have no where to go..
So Im curious if I could TAP my "JDM" manifold right where the other one is tapped...
If anyone doesnt know what Im talking about Ill get some pics up today
ANY RESPONSES ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED
Please keep in mind that I do have the stock intake arm... and I also now have the sticker for the DC header.. however I also have the stock exhaust mani if I needed that.
Ohhh one more thing.. I noticed IF its possible.....
I could swap the ENTIRE water pipe from my z6 to the zcvtec because that is where the hoses go that the zcvtec doesnt have...
Does the water pipe even come off?

Theres no reason to tap anything, You can simply use a T-tap and tap into any other vacuum line that straight off the intake and run a vacuum hose into the evap purge solenoid, then you can just mount the solenoid onto the firewall or any were else for that matter. You don't have to bar a d15b! I have a d15b and I'm in cali and my car passed smog, just tell them to call engine distributor in your area that has the d15b and they will tell the smog station thats its simply the equivalent of a d16z6.

I have to bar since I got a referee ticket...
I went today..
and well.. I faked my purge solenoid What I did was plug it in and wire it up but I made a fake valve where I was gonna tap it in...
Either way... I passed the 25 mph
but failed the 15mph HORRIBLY... My NOX reading was 3365 when the max is 835...
Whats wierd though is at 25 I passed with 771 and the max is 774.
Oh and for the record... the d15b is not equivalent to a d16z6.... its a 1.5 L not a 1.6 L
The zc-vtec is the equivalent to a d16z6

Your numbers show sign of cold cat. Was the car/cat fully warmed before the test or did it sit for a while.

No even the guy was confused the whole time he did the visual my car was running. He said the same thing... he was like "well usually this could mean your car was cold but it has been running this entire time..."
Could it have anything to do with.... My charcoal canister and my purge solenoid..
Whats kinda wierd is even when I had my d16z6 in I passed and my purge was never even hooked up... I didnt even have the plug.
I was also thinking as a possiblility maybe my headers have a hole.. or I have a leak before my cat... But I dont hear any leaks... now with the stock intake and stock dx exhaust My car is quiet as hell...

I know its not the same and that its 1.5 the smog center called the reff/bar station and they identified it as the equivalent of the d16z6. My motor passed no problem and they didn't say anything after they confirmed the motor with the bar/reff station. Why don't you just pick up a one dollar T-tap and tap the purge solenoid into another vacuum line? Its as simple as that.

Thx.. BUMP for any help....
Does anyone think if I run 91 and get a new cat would help... and how much of a difference in NUMBERS would the purge solenoid make if it was hooked up with the vacuum.
