Need help. first time Honda owner.....
Hey everybody. I am mainly a euro (vw/audi) car owner, but my wife has a 2004 honda accord. I need some help....I have no clue how to change the front brake pads. Is there an aritcle or a DIY thread for this with detail instructions?
I really appreciate all the help.
I really appreciate all the help.
I'm pretty sure its in the ACCORD FAQ stickied on the top. It's like a conventional disc system. Not sure on the Euros. Here is a quicky
Wheel off
Take out the 2 bolts holding the caliper. 1 at the top 1 at the bottom. Don't remove the caliper mounting bracket. It's in mm. I'm guessing 12mm.
Slide out the caliper. And put it aside. Remember not to let it hang by the hose.
Take out your brake pads. Note where the wear indicator/sensor is at.
Use a LARGE c-clamp and force the piston back in. *LOOSEN! the bleed screw for easier retraction* or
put the caliper back in. tighten it down.
REPEAT on the other side.
Check your resevoir for the level.
FROM THE ACCORD FAQ:

Check it out if you have any other problems. Great place. Another great place is the search button. Remember to choose the archive option.
Welcome to the Honda.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell. It's basically just like any other disc brake setup. Not very hard at all. Once you do it, you'll realize how easy it is and when you need to do it again, you'll be able to both in 15 minutes or less.
Which reminds me, I need to change my back pads.
Good luck.
