Prelude won't stay started
I bought a 95 Prelude a couple months ago. It's a nice car. I did a few upgrades to it. Megan Racing exhaust and a custom cold air intake. It's ok because I only drive the car to work. But I have this problem that just came up. The car will start but turn off as soon as I let the key go but if I cold the key in the on position it will stay runnung. I read the forum and I thought it may be the main relay but I went to the Honda dealer and said it's a part gone bad on my ignition switch. Anyone had this problem before?
One of my buddy's car was doing this a few weeks ago, we got the ignition out of my parts car, and he actually only needed the "cap" or "plug" on the end of the ignition cylinder. It has a bundle of wires attached to it, and the other end has 2 plugs, one to the fuse box and the other goes somewhere else, he changed just that and got to keep his ignition and it fixed his problem. Hope that helps
Thanks fellaz The part won't be here until Tuesday 20 Nov. I'll keep you posted on what happens. I was just in Montgomrey 2 wks ago! I have a friend who lives there we went to JenningsGP to race our motorcycles.

Search the clutch line for leaks...it's probably coming from the clutch damper mounted to the passenger side frame rail.

yeah, it happend to my prelude before too. I would start it and it would shut off if let go of the key. Bad ignition switch. I didn't repair it myself though, i took it to the mechanic. Charged my 380 bucks!

I had a 93 prelude that was doing the same exact thing and it was the ignition switch harness. and I got another one at a junkyard for 10 dollars.

yes try the damper, Or check the master under the dash for leaks
I just put my steelbraided line in. No more clutch damper
