Rumbling noise from front brakes while braking
I just got this car for my gf and ever since we got it, I noticed that whenever I brake I get this rumbling noise from the front brakes. I am going to take it apart tomorrow but thought I would come check on HT first. I suspect its the rotors and or pads gone bad
... what do guys think?

Stop driving on your brakes that are metal-to-metal! Yes, they're toast. If you're lucky, you haven't already destroyed the rotors and they might be able to be resurfaced. If they're beyond minimum machining, many here on H-T will recommend Brembo blanks and some nice pads like Hawk.
LOL, yeah you guys were right and I thought right too! Upon taking the wheels off and inspecting the brakes, one side brake pads were worn down to the metal backing and destroyed the rotor as well. I never seen a rotor look so bad!
I just got some new pads and rotors, so it should be okay when I install it tomorrow. BTW, just for the record I bought this car from these people who bought it for there 17 year old son who kept gettin tickets so they decided to get rid of it. Funny thing is, the dad mentioned that his son did the brakes on it ... yeah right - that kid probably took his parents money and blew it and drove around with bad brakes - what a numbnut! No wonder his parents just wanted it gone and when we hesitated to buy it they dropped the prices drastically.
Oh well I cannot really complain much considering I paid UNDER $500 for a 1997 Metallic blue Cavalier
and the only problem I had so far was with the front brakes! Otherwise it fires right up and drives very smooth and perfectly. There are other small cosmetic flaws but like I said for the price ...
Thanks Guys!
