for 1/8th mile just go to Irwindale. great track. get busy but with no tracks in Socal what else can we expect..... still get a decent amount of runs. show up earlier and get more runs.. open every thursday i think from 4pm to 10pm.... no registration required but mufflers are required. we just run a short pipe to a muffler which exits underneath the car.

We have raced at the Perris racetrack quite a few times. Pretty nice track except for the shutdown being a little short. They even held a few import race events which is pretty cool. Heads up race classes with money and trophy prizes and everything. They even allow you to race open header or as Paul used to call it "Run what you brung". Noise levels were not a factor. I don't know what happened but the website that used to keep us all updated went down and they stopped racing at the track. We used to like to go there and test & tune since our local 1/8th mile track ( Qualcomm ) makes you have exhaust to race. If Paul sees this I hope he hit's us up and lets us know what is going on and if he is going to re-open the track. For know all we can do is race Barona's 1/8th mile track. Which is also a great one. We are dying to go to Irwindale , but the "Thursday" thing is killing us who live in S.D. and work on Thursdays. Wish they could change up the schedual a bit.

Irwindale is cool. its a good track and i get nice 60's there.. you'll see Abel and maybe tony garcia + others testing there as well.. fun time.. i know what you mean though the thursday thing kinda sucks.. especially for you guys being so far away... i have like a 10 min drive from the shop to get there. i don't even have to take the freeway!! get there early (around 4 ) and you'll get quite a few runs..

LUCKY! Wish I lived that close to a track. I used to live 10 minutes away from Carlsbad Raceway. No more. Hope the Perris track re-opens though. Like to do the little Battles close to home.

So when Parris was open what did you have to have in order to race? Do need a helmet or any special safety stuff done to the car (I've never been). And what about Irwindale?
