6 3/4" in the rear of an 2 door teg?
Depth is not really a problem... I wish I'd measured when they were out. But tweeter hieght is an issue. 6.5ish will fit, just make sure that the tweeter is even with or lower than the outer cone lining. Infinity Kappa's will NOT let your stock grills go back on.
is the tweeter height the only issue? if i go bigger than stock, i'll do seperates, so tweeter height wont really matter...
If you're gonna do separates, dont waste em on your rear fill, plz. Stick em up front where it counts. Are you looking for more bass, or a stronger rear fill? I think the Boston FX series uses a farily low profile tweeter placement.
not really for rear fill. ideally i'd like to fit a couple of free air 8s back there. I'm ditching the subs in the trunk, just looking for decent SQ now. seperates are definately going up front BTW

The only problem I foresee would be the actual mounting of the 8's. Maybe a true 6.5 midbass or beefy coax and a foam baffle behind, unless you want to completely disassemble the entire rear interior of the car. You'd be surprised what a set of foam baffles will do for the bass repsonse on a 6" woofer. The old sound or speed dilemma. If all else fails, bazooka or infinity basslink; lighter than MDF, very efficient.
