Ok, so today I get busted for having a "loud exhaust" (thank you officer jack-a$$) So..since I gotta take mine off, and I don't want to go back to the stock EX exhaust, I would like to know if a stock cat back exhaust from like a GS-R (96-00) would bolt up on my 99 EX?

Why not get a resonator put on, or maybe a silencer for your muffler???

 

A friend of mine has a resonator on his..and it sounds awful, like a pack of really pissed off bees, mine does not.

I'm really considering the silencer, but its only supposed to drop the sound by 7 Dbs...which I don't think would be enough...unless you know of a good place to get a nice silencer???

 

unless your exhaust is obnoxiously loud you could fight the ticket.
put a silencer on. it helped my friends prelude ALOT.

 

what kind of exhaust is it?? i have apexi n1 catback on my car and currently have the silencer in cause i dont ahve a liscense and need to drive to work and school and dont want a loud car.. it helped a LOT sometimes i can barely tell i have exhaust on the car.. it is louder than stock but no where close to the n1 w/ no silencer

 

just get the stock 2000 si exhaust.

 

Is that a good exhuast? It sounds real nice

 

Get an Apexi World Sport. I have one. You get both looks and performance without the loudness.

Ok D17y8Joe, what kind of exhaust system do you have? Basically, any chambered style muffler will be quieter than a straight through(Tanabe Racing Medallion, Apex-i N1). If your exhaust performs well, then just replace the muffler with a chambered one like Apex-i World Sport or DC Sports.

 

Its a "custom" setup with a straight pipe and a greddy exhaust/canister.

I talked this over with my g/fs dad (he is a cop) and he said that I don't need to take it off, and that I shouldn't, since my car really isn't that loud and the cop probably only pulled me over since my car is "flashy" and I'm a young guy. He said that my car isn't anywhere near as loud as a Harley or any of the big V-8s with flowmasters on them, basically he said "screw 'em"....he's one way cool guy/cop.

 

get an ES Oval
