crx front bulkhead repair
i might buy a crx that has been in a slight collision that is rust free, but heres the deal, it needs #14, 10, 11, and #5 welded on, I've never done this much collsion work, but I've drilled out spot welds and i know how to mig weld. my question is if theres a lot of measuring needed to get the panels to align correctly or if i just put them on and plug weld them?
The most I ever had replaced on any of the cars I have fixed up was a #10 and 5... I would strongly encouraged to leave it to a professional to get everything dead nut. My guess is a $1000 or less in labor...
well i dont have that much money, i got a rusted donor with all those parts i can remove, but i was just looking for tips since i have to tackle this job myself, i figured since i've done a rhd firewall swap, that i would be able to do this.
anyone else have any input on how to measure and get those pieces dead on?

You need to find a frame chart. That is the only way you are gonna get the right measurements for that car. Maybe someone on here has one that they can post up or google might have it.
And one problem that I see is that without a frame machine you are gonna have a hard time getting the height right on that right rail if you are replacing 10. You can not just cut these off and replace. You are going to have to pull it into place first and then replace it.
If the apron, core support and possibly the frame rail are damaged to the extent of needing replacement the uni-body needs to be aligned on a frame machine. The frame machine holds the car while its pulled back into place to meet the correct measurements.

Before, depending on the damage some parts may need to be cut away. The measuring points need to be checked so some very slight adjustments maybe needed during and after replacement.
