Default Airbag replacement?

Hey everyone, new here, couple questions. My girlfriends parent's have a 95 Accord with pretty low miles, like 68k, and her father was rear ended resulting in a couple popped airbag's. Insurance compnay totalled it, so they are going to take the buy-back and give her the car....

So, once the bag's are popped, is it just a question of replacing them and the module?

Is there anything else involved?

What year's are in the same "generation" and acceptable for use?

Are there any special tool's involved, or is just a pull and replace job, with a trip to the dealer afterwords?

Thanks alot guy's.

Default Re: Airbag replacement? (Jrgunn5150)

i had purchase an accord 95 with both airbags deployed already so what i did was check the nearest junk yard and had gotten both driver and passenger airbags, taking the old and putting in the new( USED if your getting it from the yard ) is not that complicated but i suggest you do not plug them in just yet till you see an authorize Honda dealer, you could replace the airbag ( installing them ) but just don't plug them in.you see when your girlfriends dad was rear ended the airbag sensor maybe has to be reset...don't mess with the airbag just do what i did till you see a professional, dude that is
