Default GForce GT-50

Just curious as to how many people are using the GT-50 gearbox, and what success they've had?

http://www.gforcetransmissions.com/tran_gt-50.asp

any engine bay pictures would be apprecaited (want to see how they mounted the engine since the gearbox isnt used as part of the mounting setup.

and they say that it will work with reverse rotation engines - but does this mean a h22a mounted on the passenger side, or keeping it on the normal side?

and does anyone know what the variable and intermediate set gear ratios mean? not quite sure how they related to the 1-5 and final drive gears.

one last thing - does it have a reverse?

thanks!!!

I think right around 20k range....I think Mark Brauning is the only person that is actually using the box currently....hope that helps.

Yup there about $15,000. And unproven I think Mark Brauning's allmotor car has one.

Bothwell tested it in their car and broke it. They fixed the problem with the X-trac.

i assume that's in his K-series engine'd car.

really wanting to try and find something that'll work with a driver's side F/H engine.

if the power holding ability (should be torque, but anyway) stands up to what they say it sounds promising.

Jared,

the xtrac is not a true clutchless transmission. It still requires engine cuts to change gears. If the g-force box worked properly it would be quicker than the xtrac

in our superstock/F escort, we run g-force boxes, we have two of them with different ratios. of course this is a rwd car so cant really compare but just gotta shift hard and theyll get the job done

I noticed the hp rating is only 1100. I know a few pro teams that have surpassed that. Maybe a liability. I know the xtrac holds the power.

Yes we do, but I'm sorry, I don't have any pics that show the tranny. Our intercooler pretty much covers that area. We have an older version with a gm bellhousing, we had a midplate fabbed up to adapt it to a honda motor.

Actually they don't come with a bellhousing. You need to get one made seperately. We got ours that way, so we made it work. I believe Browell makes bellhousings for them.

There is a gear set availible for some xtracs that is a true clutchless setup. No cuts or powerloss required
