End of Season Wrap-Up - a year in the life of Canadian Type R #864
Hey guys,
So the 2007 season has come to an end. Winter is well on its way, and the weather is getting too cold and wet to even consider taking the R out of the garage. So she starts her 6 month slumber as of tonight. It's been an amazing year, and I've had a great time with the car. I've met new people, got tons of new parts, and took her out to unwind on the circuit. She's running like new, and looks like she just came off the showroom floor. Couldn't be more happy with her performance this season. Total Kilometers driven for 2007 = 2400.
In terms of maintenance this year, it was VERY expensive. Especially when I use just about every opportunity I can to upgrade. The total dollar value for this years upkeep, and new parts tops off around $7K. I kept a record of every dollar spent and I have a journal that has the car's entire history down to each new part, and my thoughts on each and how it improved the car. Lots of pics in there too. It's amazing how much money we throw at our cars. Although I won't include a dollar amount for any of this, here's the list of what was replaced / upgraded this year:
2007 Parts list, all brand new parts:
USDM Recaro SRD w/ sub belt hole

The Vapor? Paid $900. Just picked up the c02 bindings last week too. Was going to go for the C60's, but they're a bit stiff for my riding style
Thanks for comments everyone!
By the way, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Frank (Amused) and Doug (BabyNSX) for all their help and support over this season
Two of the best guys I've ever known

I understand about Canada and cold.... I am sitting here in a hotel room in Hamilton, Ontario.... obviously much colder than my home in Texas!
Last time my R looked that clean was when it was in the dealership!

Can't wait to get out this season and try it out. It's my 15th anniversary for boarding, so I figured I treat myself. The **** is LIGHT as air.
I usually ride out at Blue mountain (more of a hill) so it's mainly hardpack and some pipe now and then. But I do make it out west a few times a year ... Panorama and Kickinghorse last year, and this year probably Revelstoke, or Fernie for some backcountry. I usually ride backcountry, so cliffs, chutes, glades, but my fav thing to do is to find a spot way out in the middle of nowhere, knee deep in powder and make a huge kicker with a nice fluffy landing. Come back the next day when it's had some time to sit and firm up, and hit it all day. Can't wait!
And dude ... you're in Cali. Cali has Tahoe. YOU'RE the lucky one. Squaw is DOPE. I've always wanted to ride the KT-22.

I'm about 45 minutes from H-Town! Yeah, it's actually been pretty warm the past few days, but dude ..... this is NOTHING. Especially if you're from Texas. ****, give it a month and we'll be down to -15 Celcius. You go outside and take one breath and your nostrils will freeze closed.

Very nice pics Ryan, as usual. The pic of your car just washed is now my
new work desktop.
Like the board. I picked up at the ski show the 2007 version of Burton Custom X and CO2 bindings $900 taxes in baby.
Regarding Frozenb comments, I drove down to VIR for 2007 Expo. I tracked it
and drove back, no problems. Got over 600KM a tank, except on the track
. (I'm the original owner and the car is stock). You should come at least as a passenger. Great times.

Looking good Ryan,
Good thing you ditched that cf lip, looks alot cleaner.
If you guys are going to expo next year, set aside a good amount of change. Just going to expo 6 was almost a grand.

Thanks, Matt! You're going to love that board. My g/f just picked up the same deck, but the 08 model with C60's. It's a beautiful board. We've gotta hook up at Blue this year and go riding! When Doug gets back in a few days, we're going to go to Formula Kartways for some laps ... you in?

Thanks, Alex. Yeah the Spoon CF lips met its demise when a Raccoon decided to freeze in my headlights going about 140Kph. My front bumper didn't get a single scratch or anything ... it was flawless thank god, but the lip exploded (as cf does). Oh well!
Thanks for comments everyone!!! means alot.
